Approaching (or arriving at) mid-life is a time of reflection, and can leave you questioning who you are, and potentially feeling stuck.

Designed for women in midlife, this 2 hour workshop blends creative expression with thoughtful discussion to explore identity, change, and personal growth. Simple art-making will serve as a tool for insight and self-expression, while group conversation will deepen understanding of self and shared experience. Together, we will examine how identity evolves during this stage of life in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

No art experience required. Accessible to all skill levels.

Ideal for people experiencing:

  • Changing relationships

  • Loss (of loved ones, relationship, roles)

Meet Kim Omoruyi

Everyone has within them the capability to move through life’s challenges, but sometimes you may need a little help. Using a client-centered approach, Kim works as a partner to help you achieve your goals.

The first 20 years of her career saw Kim working as an accredited music therapist, using music and other creative modalities to help people reach their therapeutic goals. Kim now brings that experience of establishing trusting, therapeutic relationships to talk-based therapy.

A Registered Psychotherapist since 2016, her approaches may include mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and creative modalities.

Areas of specialty include caregiver stress (ex., parenting, taking care of aging parents, etc), life transitions, anxiety, grief and loss, with extensive experience in dementia care, aging, and navigating divorce/separation.

Meet Susanne Watson-Bongard

Sue brings with her over 25 years of experience as an Art Therapist, and has been a Registered Psychotherapist since  2018. Along with working full time with Veterans, Sue has also worked with and developed therapeutic programs in palliative care, mental health, and high risk obstetrics. 

Sue is open about her lived experience with anxiety, parenting, and more recently, the physical, emotional, and cognitive changes that accompany menopause. She is very excited to work with other women in midlife and help them process and manage their challenges in a creative, supportive way.

Feeling Ready for Birth & Motherhood: A Somatic Approach

In a time when “getting ready” for birth often means endless research, conflicting advice, and pressure to prepare for every possible outcome, many pregnant people find themselves feeling more anxious rather than more confident.

This workshop offers a different approach.

Rather than focusing on what you need to know or have, we explore what it means to feel ready from the inside. Through a somatic (body-based) lens, participants are guided to build the internal capacity to meet birth and early parenthood with groundedness, clarity, and responsiveness, even in the face of uncertainty.

Together, we will shift the idea of readiness away from control and toward connection: to your body, your values, and your ability to navigate the unknown.

In this workshop, you will experience:

  • Short, focused teachings on readiness, the difference between planning and control, and how to respond to the unexpected

  • Guided body-based practices to cultivate a sense of calm, grounding, and trust in your body

  • Reflective writing exercises to clarify your values and priorities for birth and early parenting

  • Small group and partner exercises to deepen insight and connection

  • Practical, accessible tools to support nervous system regulation during labour and the transition into parenthood

Participants will leave with a felt sense of increased capacity to move through intensity and uncertainty, along with simple, effective tools to return to the present moment using breath, attention, and embodied awareness.

This workshop is open to pregnant individuals seeking a deeper, more internal sense of preparedness for birth and the early stages of parenthood.

Meet Twyla Kowalenko

Twyla Kowalenko, MSW PhD is a mom of three and an experienced educator with a background in somatics and perinatal mental health. With over 25 years of facilitation experience, Twyla helps women reclaim safety, agency and embodied wellbeing. Twyla is the founder of Soma’ing and creator of Your Inner Compass, a prenatal preparation for motherhood. Twyla teaches at York University and in the community.

Meet Anuta Bondarenko

Anuta Bondarenko is a mom of three, a prenatal movement specialist, a birth doula and a certified Body Ready Method® Pro. Anuta has been teaching somatics-based movement modalities in Toronto since 2010 and has been supporting women during their transition into motherhood by helping them cultivate their intuition, body knowledge, resilience and strength. Anuta is the creator of Abodyawake approach and teaches prenatal group classes at kær as well as individual therapeutic movement sessions at Oma.

Discover the Power of Reiki: Balance Your Energy & Support Others

Join Julica of Modern Moon Collective Wellness this March for Reiki 1 & 2 Certification courses at Oma!

The trainings will be offered this spring around the Spring Equinox, a seasonal moment associated with balance, renewal, and fresh beginnings.

Level 1 takes place March 22, with Level 2 following on March 29. These weekend trainings are designed to support both personal practice and professional development while welcoming the energetic new year.

Usui Reiki Practitioner Level 1 – Day 1 - March 22, 11AM - 3PM (Foundations and Self Healing)

Level 1 focuses on building a strong foundation in Reiki and personal energetic awareness. Students are introduced to the history and principles of Reiki, how life force energy works, and the role and ethics of a Reiki practitioner. Training includes self treatment techniques, hand positions for self and others, grounding and energetic boundaries, guided practice, and a Reiki Level 1 attunement. This day is centered on self healing, embodiment, and learning how to channel Reiki safely and effectively.

Usui Reiki Practitioner Level 2 – Day 2 - March 29, 11AM - 3PM (Practitioner Expansion and Working With Others)

Level 2 deepens the practice and expands the student’s ability to offer Reiki to others. This level includes a review of Level 1, introduction to Reiki symbols and their uses, distance Reiki principles, mental and emotional Reiki techniques, and guidance on structuring Reiki sessions. Students receive the Reiki Level 2 attunement and participate in supervised hands on practice, with a focus on confidence, flow, and integration for personal or professional practice.

Healing Circle with Catherine Choi

This mini circle is an invitation to step into a shared field of care, presence, and intention. A healing circle is both simple and profound. Summer Chill in the City Restorative Yoga Series

Join Yoga Teacher Heather Catuiza for this Restorative Yoga series devoted to helping you relax, decompress, and self-regulate during the summer season.

Restorative Yoga is a gentle practice that uses props to support the body and encourage rest and relaxation. Poses are held passively for extended periods of time in order to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system—bringing the body (and mind) into a calmed state.

Each 90-minute session is an opportunity to escape the busyness of life and check in with yourself in a safe and comfortable space. All props are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own mat, blanket, and/or eye pillow for your comfort.

Limited spaces are available, and all levels are welcome!

Reset & Realign: Neck and Shoulders

Dr. Adrienne's popular upper body and shoulder mobility reset is back! This workshop is a great way to rebalance the neck and shoulder areas due to work or everyday habitual movement.

In this 75-minute class, you will be taken through corrective yogic movements, breath work, and ball rolling with the Yoga Therapy Balls to reset your upper body. We will be targeting the underused, overused, and misused muscles of your upper back and shoulders. If you are looking for improved shoulder range of motion, feeling like headaches are creeping up the back of the neck, or feel like you are constantly rounded forward, this workshop is for you!

Mobility Training for Runners: Reduce Injury and Improve Performance

Whether running is your current jam or you’d like to prep your body’s parts to make your way back to the road, this class can support you. In this 75-minute class with Dr. Adrienne, you will build dynamic strength and create healthy articulation from your feet all the way to your lower back. Learn rollouts where you’ll explore myofascial release practices for your feet, psoas, obliques, low back, and more. Create stability and balance in your body, identify common strength and mobility imbalances, and recover from injuries quicker. Use this practice on a recovery day, or as a warm-up before your run. All levels are welcome!

Props used for this session are Tune-Up Balls and Coregeous Balls, which will be provided. The items can also be purchased as a Mobility Kit package - see checkout for details.

Winter’s Wisdom Mini-Ceremony with Kristen Roderick

Ceremony helps us make sense of the many changes we face in life, and when we follow the guidance of the seasons, we begin to see how the seasonal passages are mirrored within us. Winter is a time of gearing down, contemplation and rest. Winter asks us to notice what is not yet visible or obvious, and to trust a slower pace. This gorgeous mini-ceremony is a space for you to follow the wisdom of winter and bear witness to what is quietly growing in the dark.

Acupuncture with TOCA

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to balance the body's energy, or "qi." It's commonly used to alleviate pain and may stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissues, potentially boosting the body's natural painkillers and blood flow. Naomi is a co-owner and acupuncturist at Toronto Community Acupuncture (ToCA.) Making acupuncture widely available has been a driving force in her 25 year career in Chinese Medicine. She will be offering a simple, standardized 'tune-up' treatment. It's relaxing and regulating, and a great way to try acupuncture and/or experience the group setting for the first time.
