Acupuncture

At Oma, acupuncture is offered in three distinct ways. Depending on your needs, it can be integrated into your care in different ways:

  • Chiropractic Acupuncture - offered by Dr. Adrienne
Dr. Adrienne uses acupuncture to reduce pain, relax tight muscles, decrease inflammation, and support tissue healing. It's often integrated with chiropractic care to enhance outcomes. Chiropractic acupuncture can be used pre-adjustment (to ease muscle guarding) or post-adjustment (to extend benefits).

    Common conditions treated include:

    • Low back, neck and shoulder pain

    • Sciatica and arthritis

    • Headaches and migraines

    • Sports injuries (sprains, tendonitis, rotator cuff issues)

    • Nerve-related pain (neuropathy, radiculopathy)

  • Massage-Based Acupuncture - offered by Keith, RMT
Keith offers contemporary acupuncture, often using it to treat musculoskeletal conditions and stress.

Acupuncture is very effective at treating chronic pain, muscle tension and myofascial trigger points, tendinopathies, and activating the parasympathetic nervous system (the rest and digest system). Occasionally he will use electrical stimulation to help with pain control when required.

Acupuncture is included in the price of any massage treatment.

  • Naturopathic Acupuncture - offered by Dr. Erin
Dr. Erin offers what she refers to as ‘flow acupuncture.’

In Traditional Chinese Medicine there are a number of meridians through which energy or qi flows. She selects points along the meridians that help open up any blockages, ease pain, and create calm in the mind.  The idea is to restore balance in the body and mind.

Additionally, Dr. Erin also offers facial acupuncture combined with some body points as well as fertility acupuncture.

Each approach is rooted in the same traditional principles, but applied in a way that supports your specific treatment goals.

Curious which option is right for you? We're happy to guide you.

“It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path, and to proceed.”
