Chiropractic and Detta's Pup Bodhi
Many of you know I rescued a dog, Bodhi, a few years ago. As much as I loved him, he had a hard time with other dogs. I sought the help of different trainers but nothing seemed to help, he was too far gone at the moment to listen to any instructions. I worked hard at accepting him where he was and learnt to avoid all other dogs and human owners!
In a moment of desperation, I asked Dr Mishka if she would treat him to see if we could bring his crazy down a notch. As soon as she laid her hands on him he became guarded and tried to defend himself. Dr Mishka explained how tight he was, and how much discomfort he was probably in. Even after the first treatment, I began to see a huge change in Bodhi. He began to allow other dogs to come close without any reaction, he also began to seek out other dogs! Our proudest moment was seeing Bodhi in the dog park with 20-30 other dogs!!
I cannot say this enough, but OMA is truly a place of family-centred care and our pets are FAMILY. Your dogs and cats can be in need of care just as much as you. Our animals can’t tell us when they are in pain and being adjusted can help with so many things! Your pet may also give you signs that something isn’t right. If your pet is limping inexplicably, avoids previously enjoyable activities, yelps when touched or groomed, avoids going up/down stairs or jumping up/off the furniture or simply seems to have shown a change in mood or behaviour, he or she may benefit from a chiropractic adjustment. We are forever grateful to Dr Mishka for her patience and understanding of Bodhi!
