What To Expect When Working With Our Psychotherapist Janine

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You might be wondering what it’s like to sit across from a therapist, or if you’ll feel comfortable opening up. These are natural questions and it’s important that you feel a good fit with the person you choose to work with. The connection you build with your therapist is often the strongest catalyst for meaningful change.

Here’s what you can expect if you are sitting across from me:

  • Warmth and compassion - I bring genuine care into the room. You won’t be judged, rushed, or pushed into sharing before you’re ready.

  • Full presence - Therapy works best when we’re both fully engaged. I’ll be attentive to your words, your emotions, and what may be unspoken.

  • A touch of humour - Sometimes laughter can help us breathe easier, shift perspective, or lighten a heavy moment.

  • Attention to the body - Our bodies hold our stories, stress, and wisdom. Together, we may notice how emotions show up physically and use that awareness in your healing process.

  • No expectations of you - You don’t need to prepare, perform, or come in with a list of things to talk about. Whether you arrive with something specific on your mind or nothing at all, there’s always something meaningful that can emerge when we sit together.

At its heart, therapy is a space for you to be fully seen and supported. My role is to walk alongside you as you explore, heal, and grow.

If this feels like the kind of support you’re looking for, I invite you to reach out or book a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
